STEP 1: EVALUATION OF NEEDS

Common Questions About Going Solar
Solar is cool and all, but how much does it cost?
There are a lot of factors that will affect the cost of your solar install. Some of these factors include: your energy consumption, the type of installation you want/need, shading of your home, and more. Your solar expert/guru/guide will make sure that you get exactly what you pay for when you make the jump!
Are there financing options for a solar installation?
There are a number of financing options available. Solar loans are a great option, with many solar energy loans you can finance your whole system. Determining is best for you will depend on available capital, your tax situation, and your personal preference.
Time is money, how long will it take to install my solar system?
You want it, and you want it now!! We hear you, and want to get your solar system installed as quickly as possible. Patience, our going green connoisseur, there are just a few items that need to be taken care of before the actual installation! Before the panels can be put in, there is a permitting process that can take up to 4 months. Simply Solar will handle all of this for you so you can spend that time thinking about all the money you’ll save after going solar! After the permits are finalized, a residential installation takes anywhere from 2-4 days. Commercial installations can be a little different and timelines can vary.
I’ve heard there are tax credits when you go solar, what are they and how do they work?
The Investment Tax Credit is a 26% federal tax credit available through the end of 2020. The credit will decrease to 22% for systems installed in 2021, and unless renewed by congress, the credit is set to expire in 2022. What all of this means is you are able to deduct the tax credit percentage from your federal taxes. “As long as you own your solar energy system, you are eligible for the solar investment tax credit. Even if you don’t have enough tax liability to claim the entire credit in one year, you can “roll over” the remaining credits into future years for as long as the tax credit is in effect. However, remember that if you sign a lease or PPA with a solar installer, you are not the owner of the system, and thus you cannot receive the tax credit.” -(Source: www.energysage.com)
How do I know if my house gets enough sun?
Here comes the sun… but my house is in the shade. A lot of shading on your roof will affect a solar system. The best way to answer this question is to schedule a consultation. Our Solar Experts will tell you if your home collects the right amount of sunlight to make solar energy the right option.
How long does a solar system last?
Solar panels do slowly degrade over time, which is why proper care and maintenance is recommended to maximize the lifespan of your panels. Our Solar panel partners offer product and power output warranties on their products from 25-30 years.
